The Country Music Association announced its 2026 Hall of Fame inductees on Friday (March 20). Marty Stuart, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, hosted the press conference on the association’s YouTube channel.
This year’s inductees include Paul Overstreet, The Stanley Brothers, and Tim McGraw. Paul Overstreet receives the honor as a songwriter, The Stanley Brothers as veteran-era artists, and McGraw as a modern-era artist.
“Each year, this moment serves as a powerful reminder of the people whose passion and dedication have defined country music at its very best,” says Sarah Trahern, CMA CEO. She added, “As we welcome Tim McGraw, Paul Overstreet, and The Stanley Brothers into the Country Music Hall of Fame, we celebrate not only their extraordinary achievements but also the lasting influence their music will have on future generations. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to help recognize these legacies and share in this unforgettable milestone.”
Overstreet was in Thailand when he received the call about his Hall of Fame induction. The songwriter found the news emotional as he fought back tears in front of 10 people he was dining with.
“What an honor it is to be recognized for my work by such an iconic institution as the Country Music Hall of Fame. I realize now what my friends felt when they were told they were being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Wow… it still hasn’t completely hit me yet,” said Overstreet.
As for the Stanley Brothers, the moment is a family highlight.

“Carter’s emotional lead, combined with Ralph’s haunting tenor, created a sound that was truly special. To see the Stanley Brothers recognized together, side by side, is incredibly meaningful for our family and a testament to a legacy that continues to live on through their music,” a family member shared.
Tim McGraw’s career spans three decades, with over 49 country singles, 106 million records sold worldwide, and 13 studio albums reaching the Billboard Country charts. McGraw says his rise to the Country Music Hall of Fame wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for his family, team, and fans, whom he shares the honor with.
“Everything good in my life has come from country music,” says McGraw.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is located in Nashville, Tennessee, and welcomes visitors from 9 am to 5 pm CST.
