Personally, I was drawn to the aviation side of it. As someone who’s always been fascinated by flight, there’s something powerful about that imagery not just visually, but symbolically. At the same time, the current resurgence of patriotic messaging in country music is something I’m still navigating. It can be meaningful for some and complicated for others. What “American Sky” does well, though, is keep its focus grounded. It doesn’t try to define what that experience should be for everyone it simply presents Tippin’s perspective.
