Jessica Christine Uses Music, Education, and Storytelling to Make a Difference

For as long as she can remember, Jessica Christine loved music.

The stage felt natural. Singing felt natural. Storytelling through song felt natural.

But like many creative people, she was given advice that countless artists have heard before:

“Find something that pays the bills.”

So she did.

Instead of immediately pursuing music full-time, Jessica built a career in education, dedicating her life to helping others grow, learn, and succeed. She became a teacher, mentor, educational leader, and advocate for students throughout her community.

Yet the dream of creating music never disappeared.

It simply waited for the right time.

A Calling Rooted in Family

Jessica’s decision to enter education wasn’t accidental.

It was deeply personal.

Growing up alongside her younger brother Nicolas, who has exceptional needs, she witnessed firsthand the impact that support, encouragement, and advocacy can have on someone’s life.

That experience inspired her to pursue a career in Special Education, where she could help students discover their strengths and reach their potential.

“My brother taught me that everyone deserves someone who believes in them”

That philosophy became a guiding principle not only in her career but throughout her life.

Helping Others Find Their Voice

For years, Jessica poured her energy into helping others.

She taught students.

She mentored families.

She advocated for learners who needed someone in their corner.

While many people know her today as a musician and performer, education remains one of the most important chapters of her story.

It’s also one of the reasons her music resonates with people.

Because at its core, her work has always been about connection.

Whether she is standing in front of a classroom or standing behind a microphone, the mission is remarkably similar:

Help people feel seen.

Help people feel understood.

Help people believe in themselves.

Finally Following the Dream

While building her career in education, Jessica continued writing, performing, and developing her craft as a musician.

The love for music never went away.

Eventually, she decided it was time to fully embrace that side of herself.

Today, Jessica performs throughout the Midwest, sharing a blend of original music, beloved classics, and heartfelt storytelling that has earned her a loyal following.

But unlike some artists who focus primarily on fame or recognition, Jessica views music through a different lens.

For her, music is a tool for healing.

A way to encourage people.

A way to remind listeners they are not alone.

Many of her original songs explore themes of resilience, hope, growth, and finding beauty within life’s challenges.

If her educational career focused on helping students discover their potential, her music seeks to do something similar for audiences.

More Than Entertainment

One thing that became clear during our conversation with Jessica is that she doesn’t view music as simply entertainment.

She views it as an opportunity.

An opportunity to connect.

An opportunity to encourage.

An opportunity to help someone through a difficult moment.

Whether she’s performing at a community event, singing the National Anthem, recording original music, or co-hosting her podcast This Might Get Ackward, the goal remains consistent:

Create meaningful human connection.

That’s increasingly rare in today’s fast-paced world, and it’s one of the reasons her story stands out.

Finding Joy Along the Journey

Jessica’s personal motto is simple:

Find Your Joy.

It’s a phrase that reflects both her career and her creative journey.

After years of helping others find their voice, she’s finally embracing her own.

And in doing so, she’s using music to continue the work she’s always cared about most—helping people feel encouraged, empowered, and connected.

For Indie Spark, that’s exactly the kind of story worth sharing.

Because sometimes the most inspiring creators aren’t the ones chasing attention.

They’re the ones using their talents to make a difference, one person at a time.

Know Someone We Should Feature?

At Indie Spark, we believe some of the most meaningful stories come from creators who are using their talents to uplift others.

Jessica Christine’s journey reminds us that success isn’t always about choosing one path over another. Sometimes it’s about allowing every chapter of your life—your experiences, challenges, passions, and purpose—to work together toward something bigger.

Through education, advocacy, music, and storytelling, Jessica continues to make an impact on the people around her.

And those are exactly the kinds of voices we love to celebrate.
