Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj have been in a feud since 2023, which seems to have just escalated with the release of their two songs, “Hiss” and “Big Foot”. It appears the feud began back in 2023 with the release of Nicki’s song “Red Ruby Da Sleeze”, which included a line that was perceived as a jab at Megan’s stage name.
Megan Thee Stallion released her song “Hiss” on January 26, 2024, and features lyrics about Megan’s frustration with people who talk behind her back and are constantly spreading rumors about the “Hottie”. The song is produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat and Bankroll Got It. The official video for the song was also released on YouTube on the same day. While Megan doesn’t address anyone specific in the song, it appears one of the lines struck a nerve with Nicki Minaj. Many people believe the following line, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law” was talking directly to Nicki and the recent conviction of her husband Kenneth Petty. Megan’s Law is a federal law that “require(s) the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders”.
Nicki Minaj released “Big Foot” on January 29, 2024, which is aimed at Megan Thee Stallion directly. The song includes lyrics such as “This lil’ beggin’ whore talkin’ ’bout Megan’s Law, For a free beat, you could hit Megan raw, If you a ghostwriter, party in Megan jaw, Shots thrown, but I still ain’t let Megan score, Bad bitch, she like six foot, I call her Big Foot, The bitch fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot.’”
The feud between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj has been the subject of much discussion on Instagram and Tik Tok, with fans of both rappers taking sides. While the “Barbz” and the “Hotties” continue to support each of their respective artists, one thing is for certain and that is this feud is generating a lot of buzz for each of the artists.
The “Barbz” blame Megan for the current feud, saying she shouldn’t speak on Nicki’s husband, the “Hotties” believe that Megan never specifically called out anyone by name and Nicki’s response is one of those “if the shoe fits” situations and many “Hotties” are bashing Nicki for speaking on Megan’s deceased mother.
